New Years Eve Engagement Party in Lake Tahoe | One Fine Day Events

This New Years Eve we had the incredible pleasure of ringing the new year in with our lovely new clients, Jessica & Brian, and their closest family and friends! Although they had been engaged for a couple months, they hadn't quite celebrated this very celebratory-worthy affair. So, we threw them an unbelievable party at Jessica's family home in Tahoe! The family home has a country cabin feel with 100 year old wood and impeccable architecture & interior design. It's the type of home that invites you in and makes you want to cozy up on the couch with a good book and a glass of vino! And, the views are jaw dropping! Every window and balcony has an incredible view of the lake inviting you to dive right in to the big blue lake...even if it's 30 degrees outside and December 31st!

Anywho, to the party! The dinner took place upstairs in the study. We moved out all of the furniture and setup a lovely intimate soiree!

Here are the 'before' pictures during setup (forgive my very poor photography):

After setting up the tables, chivari chairs, the linens, place settings, mercury glass candle holders, and Stems by Diana's beautiful flowers, the look was complete!

Our amazing catering co, D'lish, are shown here cooking up the sumptuous feast! Below the chefs is our team prepping and producing the party!

And lastly the party room! These guys and gals danced their booties off all night under a romantic canopy of lanterns...and of course, mistletoe! D'lish created "The dessert station of all dessert stations" with s'mores, cream puffs, decadent mini cupcakes, and a cookie jar!

Thank you to D'lish Catering and Stems by Diana for helping us make this party so wonderful!

Fab Finds | Fabric Bouquets

Fabric bouquets are all the latest craze, and they're becoming popular for good reason - they're reasonably priced, make for a great keepsake, and won't wilt, ever! Some of the latest styles even look real, others are designed with vintage brooches, creative fabrics, or embellished with dried plants and herbs. I think they're a great alternative for a bouquet; you could use it at the rehearsal for practice, have your bridesmaids carry one, or get custom fabric boutonnieres made for the groomsmen and your sweetie!

Lake Tahoe Wedding Inspiration | Wedded Bliss

Photographs are one of those unbelievable things that can transport you back in time to a special memory or occasion and it's almost like you're re-living that day all over again. I really love wedding ring photography, with both rings intermingled amongst one another. There's something so special and sweet about it- it's pure wedded bliss, just like the bride and groom!

Orange and Turquoise is a beautiful color combination that perfectly compliments one another; they're both bright and colorful and make each other pop! I would use lots of blue glass with orange peonies and peaches galore. I would also not be afraid to have blue lips when I take a bite out of the perfectly sky-hued cake - Yum!

Lake Tahoe Holiday Tips!

The Holidays are here and everyone loves a party! We've compiled two different inspiration boards on our sister site, Tahoe Unveiled, for everyone to draw inspiration from. We've also thought up a few fun ways to incorporate your community into your fabulously decorated soiree along with a few tips and tricks to make sure everyone has a great time at your bash! First up; everyone loves silver and gold! Whether throwing on a fabulous silver party dress or having your guests sip out of gold-rimmed glasses, silver and gold are the ultimate holiday colors. Here are a few images to inspire your next Holiday party!

To view any of these inspiration boards in full, please visit Tahoe Unveiled's Blog!

To really make the most of your Holiday party this year, try helping your community out and giving your guests a real reason to celebrate! Make the party into a charity donation by asking guests to bring in a canned good in exchange for a drink ticket or special snack. You could also create a beautiful box in which to ask guests to donate a gently used jacket or sweater for the community shelter. To really bring a little life to the party, try throwing a festive and fun competition in which everyone contributes a small donation to & the winner gets to donate the earnings to his or her favorite charity.

*Tell all of your loved ones how much you care about them this Holiday - tis the season of joy, love, and celebration. Happy Holidays Everyone!

One Fine Day Featured on Hindsight Bride | Tips for Planning Your Destination Wedding

A few weeks ago we had a great chat with Christie from Hindsight Bride. She interviewed me to give her viewers a few tips on how to plan a destination wedding in the mountains. As 99.9% of our clients live outside of Tahoe, we work really closely with them and our vendors to make sure every little detail is organized! In this podcast interview, Christie and I discussed budgeting funds, photo shoots, the difference between a planner and a venue coordinator, and where I find my inspiration! If you'd like to listen to the interview, you can click here (side note, the interview doesn't work in Chrome)! I can be a tad bit verbose and definitely rambled on a bit - feel free to fast forward!
