Yellow is one of my all time favorite Summer colors, and foods for that matter - lemon cupcakes, bright lemon sundresses, lemonade....the list could go on! One way to brighten up your color palatte would be an infusion of this totally summer worthy color. Drip your ceremony in bright yellow tulips, cover a table with lemony cupcakes, greet your guests with a refreshing burst-of-lemon inspired cocktail, or finish your night off with a lemon-drop martini!

Ahh...Summer is approaching and the only thing on my mind is the Tahoe City Farmers' market and it's abundance of fresh and local fruit! Having a giant fruit bar with citrus infused water and fresh berries would be the perfect way to welcome guests to your celebration. Placing small kumquats as a pre-dinner snack and having bowls of fresh oranges and baby fuji apples on the dinner tables not only looks gorgeous but will give your guests a burst of energy for the dance floor!

This week we wanted to show you another gorgeous wedding held at the West Shore Cafe this August. This Texan dream couple, with the sweetest family dynamic West of the Mississippi, was a blast to work with on their Coral Glitz inspired soiree! From the richly-textured and vibrant linens to the gorgeous duo of cakes, this wedding went off without a hitch! The vows were adorable, the speeches were so heartfelt, and the late night dance party was a blast!

This stunning deep purple textured linen (pictured above!) brought out the bride's love for bold colors...particulary plum and coral! The beautiful linens are pictured above bursting out of our car! Also shown is Johanna from Cake Tahoe building and designing not just one, but two wedding cakes under the cake cabana!
Since the lovely bride loved a little glamour and some sparkle, we incorporated an array of chandeliers to float above the head table. Pictured below are these little beauties pre-install!
This amazing evening was capped off by late night dancing under the stars - no better way to end a gorgeous night!

There is a certain je ne sais quoi about the French culture that I absolutely adore. They know how to cook, they know how to relax, and they create things that have a certain sensuality about them without being overly risque or crude. Today's inspiration is reminiscent of Marie Antoinette - and no party of Marie's would be complete without the most over-the-top dessert bar! So whether you are going for a soft, sensual, or just plain pretty look for your wedding, try weaving in a few French influences and you're sure to create a soft & sweet atomosphere. And don't forget to have lots of forks on hand so you can "let them eat cake!"
